At 32.4 degrees C,Shimla records hottest day

The mercury touched 32.4 degrees Celsius the highest-ever and 8.3 degrees above normal.

The mercury touched 32.4 degrees Celsius the highest-ever and 8.3 degrees above normal here on Thursday. Before this,the highest temperature was 31.7 degrees Celsius,which was recorded on May 20,2004.

Himachal Pradesh has been experiencing the harshest summer ever,with temperature across the state shooting seven to eight degrees above normal. All tourist destinations,including Shimla,Kufri,Narkanda,Manali and Kalpa in Kinnaur,are sizzling,forcing tourists indoors during the day.
