Though Badal managed to retain the seat, his winning margin drastically reduced from 50,246 in 2012 to 18,500 this time.

"The AAP bubble has burst with their outright rejection by the Punjab voters," said Amarinder Singh, adding that the alleged AAP extremist links, had also worked against Arvind Kejriwal’s party.
Angry Maur residents who were saying no to voting, had voted over 85% and the booth near blast site had voted 76.6%.
"I congratulate Congress, will ensure full co-operation in the interest of the state," said Parkash Singh Badal.
