They ask why would another part of India be concerned… this is because of ‘tukde tukde’ gang, that they are speaking such language,” Modi said.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh hit out at the BJP, saying that the party’s governance in the state “has left much to be desired”. “We now know that the Electoral Bonds Scam cost Indian citizens Rs. 4 lakh crores – the question is how much did the change in Government in Bihar cost the people of India?” Ramesh added. PM Modi will also campaign in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri, where a storm last week left at least five dead and 30 injured. In Bengal, a political row erupted Saturday in light of yet another incidence of violence. A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials was allegedly attacked by villagers at Bhupatinagar in East Medinipur district, where they had gone to investigate a 2022 bomb blast case in which three people were killed. While the BJP slammed the TMC government for the attack, Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee accused the NIA officials of allegedly attacking the villagers, and not the other way round. Meanwhile, AAP workers across the country will be holding a fast to protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's roadshow in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday has fired up workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, leaders said.
The 1.2 kilometre roadshow, from Shaheed Bhagat Singh crossing to Adi Shankaracharya crossing in Gorakhpur locality here, saw huge crowds lining up along the route, many of them carrying placards claiming they were Modi's family.
Tribal dancers performed at several places while the saffron coloured vehicle carrying the PM, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and others moved as part of the roadshow between 6:30pm and 7:15pm.

In, out, in, SP’s final Moradabad candidate says: ‘No one can force leadership to give ticket’
There is no end to the troubles for the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Moradabad. Ever since the Lok Sabha ticket allocation for the seat on March 27, when the party controversially denied the nomination to its sitting MP S T Hasan and gave it to former party MLA Ruchi Veera at the last moment, the two leaders have squared off, putting the party’s campaign in jeopardy.
Even after Veera’s nomination papers had been accepted, a letter purportedly written by SP president Akhilesh Yadav had surfaced saying Hasan was the party’s official candidate, adding to the confusion.
Left in the end without a ticket, Hasan had told The Indian Express that he wouldn’t campaign for Veera — who is considered to be a confidant of senior jailed SP leader Azam Khan — even though Akhilesh had asked him to do so. Read more

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Live Updates: PM Modi's road show to begin at 4 pm in Ghaziabad; Check traffic diversions here
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's road show will begin at 4 pm from Maliwada Chowk to Chaudhary Mod at Ambedkar Road. Officials said that traffic diversion will be in place from 1 pm at multiple locations and will continue till the programme concludes.
According to the Ghaziabad traffic police, movement of heavy and commercial vehicles will be restricted from 1 pm on different routes: Lal Kuan/Sajan Mod to Chaudhary Mod, Vasundhara Bridge to Mohan Nagar, Atmaram Steel Tiraha to Diamond Tiraha, Tulsi Niketan to Karangate Roundabout, ALT intersection to Meerut Tiraha, Seemapuri to Mahan Nagar and Jal Nigam T-Point to Meerut Tiraha.
Similarly, movement of private vehicles and public transport buses will be restricted from 2 pm on routes such as Anand Vihar to Mohan Nagar, Seemapuri to Mohan Nagar, Loni/Tulsi Niketan to Karangate Roundabout, ALT to Meerut Tiraha, Dasna Bridge to Hapur Chungi, Lal Kuan to Chaudhary Mod and Jal Nigam T-Point to Meerut Tiraha.

India's preferred party, PM Modi says on BJP foundation day
On the 44th foundation day of BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it has become India's preferred party and added that the youth of India see it as the party which can fulfil their aspirations and provide leadership to the nation in the 21st century. While exuding confidence in gaining victory in the upcoming polls, Modi emphasised that the BJP has freed India from the culture of corruption, cronyism, casteism, communalism and vote bank politics, which was the "hallmark" of those who ruled the nation for the longest time.
"Be it at the Centre or states, our party has redefined good governance. Our schemes and policies have given strength to the poor and downtrodden. Those who were left on the margins for decades found a voice and hope in our party," PM Modi said on X.
"I also recall with great reverence the hard work, struggles and sacrifices of all those great women and men who built our party over the years. I can say with great confidence that we are India's preferred party, which has always served with the motto of 'Nation First'," he said.

Congress manifesto promises constitutional amendment to raise fifty percent cap on reservations
The Congress in its Lok Sabha poll manifesto has promised to pass a constitutional amendment raising the fifty per cent cap on reservations for SC, ST and OBC categories. In addition to this, it promised that the reservation of 10 per cent in jobs and educational institutions for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will be implemented without discrimination for all castes and communities. "Funds for scholarships for OBC, SC and ST studentswill be doubled, especially for higher education. We willaid SC and ST students to study abroad; and willdouble the number of scholarships for them to pursuea Ph.D," the manifesto states.
Removal of current Manipur govt, appointment of reconciliation commission in Cong's poll manifesto
The Congress in its poll manifesto released Friday has promised the removal of the current Manipur government, along with the appointment of a reconciliation commission for political and administrative settlement satisfactiry to the people of the state. "The situation in Manipur has gone from bad toworse due to the callous neglect of the BJP/NDAgovernment. Congress will remove the present stategovernment forthwith and heal the wounds betweenthe communities," the manifesto states. It further promises compensation to the victims and survivors of the Manipur conflict.

The Congress in its Lok Sabha poll manifesto promised to revisit and amend the new education policy in consultation with the state governments, while highlighting the fact that several educationists and state dispensations had opposed it, news agency PTI reported. The manifesto also reiterated the Right to Education (RTE) Act, introduced in 2009, while saying it transformed education for children aged 6-14 years. "The New Education Policy (NEP) announced by the BJP-NDA government has been opposed by educationists and several state governments. Education is a concurrent subject and the rights of states to formulate an education policy must be respected. Hence, we will revisit and amend the NEP in consultation with the state governments," the manifesto said.
