Ghonda was represented by Shri Dutt Sharma in the last assembly elections held in 2015, who won the seat by a margin of 60906. Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party secured a spectacular victory in the last Delhi Assembly elections, winning 67 of the 70 seats. The BJP had won 3 seats while the Congress was wiped out from the national capital.
