Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PTI)“Fake samajwadis” will not only corner welfare benefits of farmers but also re-establish the rule of “mafias and rioters” in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday.
Virtually addressing voters of Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh, Hapur and Noida from New Delhi, he urged people to repose their faith in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the seven-phase UP assembly polls so that criminals don’t become powerful. These districts vote in the first phase on February 10.
“When you go out to vote this time, you would have to be very careful. Remember if they get the chance, these fake samajwadis and pariwarwadis will stop the financial help worth crores to farmers; they will corner the direct transfer benefit for MSP being given to farmers; and they will stop free ration that you are getting since the Covid time period to fill the stomach of your families and will keep you hungry,” the PM said in his second virtual poll address since the election dates were announced on January 8.
“Always remember, they will rob the middle class to fill the pockets of the real estate mafia, ration mafia, mining mafia. Fake samajwadis and pariwarwadis are ready to appear in their former avatar,” Modi said, listing various government schemes that will be stopped if the SP-RLD alliance is voted to power.
In his bid to woo farmers, the PM claimed that previously closed sugar mills have been reopened under the BJP government and over Rs 1.5 lakh crore dues paid to sugarcane farmers. In the first phase on February 10, all 58 assembly seats have considerable farmer voters. BJP leaders have been facing backlash in the region over the three controversial farm laws, which now stand repealed.
Alluding to SP leader Akhilesh Yadav’s apparent misgivings earlier over the Covid vaccine, Modi claimed that the opposition was spreading misinformation over MSP.
