An active shooter in the Texas capital of Austin has left at least multiple victims, police said in a message on Twitter early on Sunday. A local news agency has reported that a 30-year-old woman has been killed in the gun attack, but we could not verify the same independently. “Active shooter incident downtown, multiple victims. Stay away from downtown,” Austin police said in a message on Twitter. It was not immediately clear how many people were shot. The Austin Medical Emergency Services also took to Twitter warning residents to stay away from sixth street saying several people were injured in a shooting incident. The police officials have also asked the media not to contact them for now and updates will be provided as early as possible. A resident who was present at the crime scene shot a video that shows people panicking on hearing gunshots and running down what appears to be a main street. The police, had warned residents to move away from 6th Street. It was not clear how many people have been injured in the shooting, but local media reports suggest that one person has been killed. A suspect was apprehended and is in custody. The city of Mukilteo said on its Twitter feed that there were three fatalities in the Chennault neighborhood.
