PTI reported that the incident took place shortly after 8 a.m. on a busy road outside the FC headquarters. City Police Chief Mian Saeed said, “Initially, three militants tried to attack the headquarters. One terrorist blew himself up at the gate, while two others tried to enter the premises but were gunned down by FC personnel.”
Social media users in nearby neighbourhoods said they heard a loud blast coming from the direction of the FC complex. Pakistani authorities said two explosions occurred within the compound one at the main gate and another near a motorcycle stand triggering panic in surrounding residential and commercial areas.
The attack happened as staff had assembled in the main compound at the start of the working week. Three suicide bombers targeted the headquarters of a Pakistani paramilitary force, killing three personnel and wounding at least five, authorities said.
Reuters reported that security personnel and rescue teams were seen at the scene soon after the blast as an investigation began.
