US President Donald Trump is removing Billy Long as the commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing four people familiar with the matter.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will serve as acting commissioner until a permanent replacement is in place, the newspaper said, citing a senior administration official.
