US President Donald Trump met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during the Gaza peace summit in Egypt on Monday, their first meeting in eight years. The two leaders exchanged a brief handshake and spoke for a few seconds before Trump gave a thumbs-up to the cameras at the summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh.
