Trump accuses Democrats of leaking information on Iran strikes: ‘They should be prosecuted’

White House tightens Intelligence sharing amid fallout

Following reports of a leaked draft Pentagon assessment suggesting the strikes only delayed Iran’s nuclear program by months, the White House confirmed it had restricted intelligence access. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the administration wants to ensure “classified intelligence is not ending up in irresponsible hands.”

She also noted there was “no indication” that enriched uranium was moved from the targeted nuclear sites ahead of the strikes.

The Senate is expected to vote soon on a resolution requiring congressional approval for any future military action against Iran. The measure, however, faces slim chances of passage under Republican control, as per The Guardian.

Trump formally notified Congress of the strikes two days after the attack, reported The Guardian, framing them as actions taken “to advance vital United States national interests, and in collective self-defense of our ally, Israel.”

Democrats expressed strong skepticism. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer slammed the administration for offering “no coherent strategy” or “detailed plan” to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Senator Chris Murphy accused Trump of misleading the public, while also questioning why Gabbard skipped the session.
