At least 11 hospitalised after shooting in South Carolina beach town; probe on

The police did not release the details of the suspect involved in the shooting nor gave the information on what led to it.

At least 11 people were hospitalised after a shootout was reported from a South Carolina beach town in the US on Sunday night, according to police officials in Little River.

As per the Horry County Police, the condition of those injured was not detailed in the shooting that happened about 9.30 pm in Little River. The police further added that they received reports of others arriving at area hospitals via their personal vehicle.

After about 90 minutes, the police declared that it was an isolated shooting incident and there was no risk to the community as such. However, the police did not release the details of the suspect involved in the shootout nor gave the information on what led to the shooting.

“At this time, 11 individuals have been transported to area hospitals by Horry County Fire Rescue, and we have received reports of others arriving at area hospitals via personal vehicles,” Horry County Police said in a Facebook post.

Videos from the scene posted on social media showed dozens of police cars and ambulances rushing in and out of the region. South Carolina’s Little River is 20 miles (32 kilometers) northeast of Myrtle Beach.
