The families of the 48 Israeli hostages, who are still being held by Hamas in Gaza, have announced another mass protest on Saturday, demanding their immediate return.

According to the families, protest rallies will be held at the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the Shar HaNegev Junction, and Carmel Gat to demand that decision-makers end the war and return all 48 hostages.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum also alleged that the current escalations are yet another deliberate attempt to sabotage a hostage return agreement.

‘Netanyahu killed hope for return of hostages’

Following the Israeli airstrike in Doha, targeting the top leadership of Hamas, there have been increasing concerns over the Gaza ceasefire deal and the return of the remaining hostages.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister of Qatar, had claimed that with the airstrike, Netanyahu may have killed any hope for the return of the hostages.

Qatar suspends mediation

On Thursday, Qatar informed the Trump administration that it is temporarily suspending its mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire and hostage deal between Hamas and Israel.

Earlier, on Wednesday, a day after the airstrike in Doha, Chief of the General Staff of Israel, Eyal Zamir, approved the operational plans ahead of the military’s upcoming offensive in Gaza City.

However, the families of the hostages said the war was threatening to topple Israeli society, not Hamas.

“This is not a war to topple Hamas, but rather a war that threatens to topple Israeli society—and we will not allow this to happen! We call out with one clear voice: the time has come to end the war,” the families said.
