World Wildlife Day is observed on March 3 every year, and in 2025, it will be observed on Monday, under the theme of “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet.”

World Wildlife Day 2025: Origin and Significance

World Wildlife Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2013, following a proposal by Thailand to draw global attention to the importance of wildlife and to inspire efforts for their protection.

March 3 was chosen as the date to mark the adoption of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in 1973.
