2024 Anant Chaturdashi: Anant Chaturdashi is a significant Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Vishnu, particularly in his Anant form.
This festival takes place on the 14th day of the Bhadrapada month during the Shukla Paksha phase and marks the culmination of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Ganesh Visarjan is a ritual that marks the grand farewell to Lord Ganesha, marking his return to Mount Kailash and the removal of obstacles from devotees’ lives.
On this day, Lord Vishnu, Mother Yamuna, and Sheshnag are worshipped, and the Anant Sutra is tied on the arm after worshipping Lord Vishnu, as it is believed that the lord resides in the thread.
In Bhadrapada, the Shukla Paksha Chaturdashi date is known as Anant Chaturdashi or Anant Chaudas. This is also the final day of Ganesh Utsava, marked by Ganesh Visarjan.
Even though visarjan can be done a day before or on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, Anant Chaturdashi is supposed to be the most significant.
This year, in 2024, Ganesh Visarjan will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17, aligning with Anant Chaturdashi, with the puja muhurat starting from, 06:08 AM to 11:44 AM.
Here is a table displaying the different Muhurat timings for Anant Chaturdashi 2024:

On this day, devotees observe a day-long fast, believing it brings blessings and prosperity.
The primary focus is on the worship of Lord Vishnu in his Anant form, along with Goddess Yamuna and Sheshnag.
A key ritual involves tying a sacred thread known as the Anant Sutra on the wrist, which symbolises the presence of Lord Vishnu and is tied with 14 knots, representing the 14 worlds.
Additionally, Anant Chaturdashi coincides with the immersion (Visarjan) of Lord Ganesha’s idol, marking the end of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
This immersion is celebrated with processions, prayers, and songs, adding to the day’s festive spirit.
