According to the Author, Friend-Pereira, J. E. in his book – A Grammar of the Kui Language, the Kui language is one of the uncultivated aboriginal dialects of the Dravidian group of languages. Hence, statement 1 is not correct.

The Dravidian languages belong to the class of Agglutinative languages.

The general characteristics of Kui languages are:

1. Absence of words that signify the higher forms of thought. Hence, there are no abstract nouns to express an ideal entity as existing separate and distinct from a concrete object. Hence, statement 2 is correct.

2. Inadequate number of words to mark and differentiate between the various kinds of moral qualities and the various forms of higher activities.

3. Absence of any systematic attempt by the addition of formative particles as in the literary languages:

The Chin Hills, or Indo-Chin hill ranges, is a thickly forested region with an elevation of 2,100-3,000 metres in northwestern Myanmar.

The Hills are home to a large number of tribes that come under the Zo umbrella.

The Zo peoples include all tribes of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo ethnic group spread across Myanmar, India, and Bangladesh, along with many sub-tribes and clans such as the Chin, Kuki, Mizo, Lushei, Zomi, Paitei, Hmar, Ralte, Pawi, Lai, Mara, Gangte, Thadou, etc.

The tribes are believed to have migrated from China through Tibet to settle in Myanmar and speak a group of Tibeto-Burman languages.

Ngotekherh is generally 63″ in length and 45″ in breadth. The size can vary slightly depending on the size of women wearing it.

The ground fabric of Ngotekherh is white with horizontal shadowy black stripes which is produced by using white and black weft alternately in the white vertical warp.

Ngotekherh is woven in two pieces lengthwise and are sewn together (called Zungthui, meaning sewn together or stitched by hand) in the middle forming a complete puan.

It is a popular traditional cloth of the Mizo people.

Mizoram has received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Ngotekherh under Sub-section (1) of Section 13 of the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999.
