Remember the mind-blowing performance on the song by three girls on a beach which instantly went viral? And then the veena cover by two Canadian girls of Indian origin that subsequently became a massive hit on social media?
Looks like this song is proving to be quite an inspiration for young artistes from all corners of the world, and each time we hear a new rendition, it seems to trump the previous one. The latest addition to the list of ‘Cheap Thrills’ covers is one on tabla, and it’s fantastic! Shared by Shobhit Banwait on his page Shobhit Banwait Music, the video has gone viral with over 150,000 views and 2,500 shares at the time of writing.
Banwait is a Toronto-based artiste whose love for tabla is quite visible on his Facebook page. His first video titled “When your mom thought she could take the hood out of you by sending you to mandir,” was a hit and has more than 600,000 views till date. Ever since, he has been sharing his tabla covers of various hit songs on his Youtube channel.
Recently, he even shared his version of “How Deep is Your Love” by Calvin Harris and Disciples and “Lean On” by Major Lazer & DJ Snake which were equally loved by people.
