Any man versus wild kind of videos are sure to garner a lot of interest and more often than not, it’s the latter who comes off a winner; but a recent video of a kangaroo and a man has astonished the world.
A viral video doing the rounds on social media shows a man charging towards a kangaroo, usually known to be gentle creatures, with its hands dangerously wrapped around a dog’s neck. In what can be said to be a role reversal of man’s best friend, the dog’s owner – shocked to see his pet in peril – charges towards the marsupial, who lets go of the dog, but immediately assumes an aggressive stance. The fearless man whacks a solid punch on the kangaroo’s face, which appears to stun the animal.
The strange encounter from Australia has shocked the world and led to a mixed reaction on social media. While few have hailed the dog owner, now identified as Greig Tonkins, for heroically saving his dog, many others thought it was a wrong assault on a wild animal.
The video, which has been uploaded multiple times and on multiple platforms, is being shared widely.
According to Daily Mail Australia, the man in the video is an elephant-keeper at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, New South Wales. He and his mates were out hunting wild pigs in June when his pet Max was attacked by wild animal. However, video of the incident has only gone viral now.
