The report revealed that 4,940 users searched for “girlfriend” and 40 for “dulhan” on the platform. It also shed light on the behaviour and ordering patterns of users.
The report revealed that Delhi-NCR outpaced Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan combined in the number of orders placed. Delhi-NCR recorded a total of 12.4 crore orders, surpassing the combined 10 crore orders from the other states.
Zomato also revealed that Bengaluru placed 30 lakh more orders than Mumbai, though Mumbai’s total revenue exceeded Bengaluru’s by approximately Rs 3 crore. The platform also recorded its highest order volume on May 12, with 34.8 lakh orders, while the lowest was on January 29, at 16.8 lakh orders.
New Year’s Eve brought an unprecedented surge in demand for quick commerce platforms, food delivery services, and other consumer internet companies. Executives from platforms like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto shared remarkable consumer trends and record-breaking order volumes on social media. Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa wrote, “We have already crossed the total number of orders we did on NYE 2023. Happened around 5 pm today!”
Blinkit on New Year’s Eve clocked a whopping 2.3 lakh packets of aloo bhujia out for delivery by 8.00 PM. On Swiggy Instamart, the chips order surged at 853 orders per minute.

The quick-delivery platform also reported an impressive 1.2 lakh condom packs delivered, with chocolate-flavoured condoms stealing the show (39 per cent of sales). While Swiggy Instamart had already delivered 4,779 packs by the afternoon.
