Zaira Wasim posts Instagram story about mould spore on pie bought from Srinagar bakery.Zaira Wasim, former actor known for her roles in Dangal and Secret Superstar, lives in her hometown, Srinagar. On Saturday, she posted an Instagram story, sharing a concerning experience with her followers.
The video story Wasim posted showed a pie she had ordered from a local bakery, seemingly innocuous at first. The camera focused on the pie resting on a plate before zooming in on a small, but noticeable, mould spore. The discovery prompted Wasim to share a warning with her followers, stressing on the importance of being vigilant when buying food from local establishments.
In the caption accompanying the video, Wasim wrote, “People, check twice before consuming stuff from local bakeries.” She also wrote, “Mold in the pie,” and tagged Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, as the location. Srinagar is known for bakeries and cafes serving sumptuous food.
In May, the national Award-winning actor’s father Zahid Wasim passed away. An Instagram post she made then, where she is seen kissing him as a toddler, had made headlines. Wasim posted the photo with a caption saying, “Verily the eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, but we will not say except that which is pleasing to our Lord. My father, Zahid Wasim, has passed away. Please remember him in your prayers and ask Allah to forgive his shortcomings, make his grave peaceful, protect him from its torment, ease his journey from here ahead.

Wasim’s decision to end her acting career, stating that it interfered with her faith and and religion, came in 2019. She’s been away from limelight since then, but has over nine lakh followers on Instagram.
