One young fan recently got to live that dream in Perth ahead of the first ODI between India and Australia. Overjoyed after securing Kohli’s autograph, the child was seen running across the field, ecstatic at meeting his idol.
With Kohli and Rohit Sharma rejoining the Indian squad for the Australia tour starting October 19, much of the spotlight has naturally shifted to the two former captains. But it was this simple, heartwarming interaction that stole the show in Perth, where the team is currently practicing.
The fan’s excitement, jumping and rolling across the ground, was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media. An X account shared the clip with the caption, “The happiness of a Kid after getting Virat Kohli’s autograph.”
The video has already racked up over a lakh views, with fans sharing their reactions in the comments. One wrote, “Forget about any kid, even I will do the same in this situation.” Another added, “I’m 63 and I’d do the same.” A third remarked, “In the history of cricket, I have never seen a fan dancing with such joy for getting an autograph for any player.” Meanwhile, another user chimed in, “Agree or not, VK is the biggest celebrity of this generation.”
Kohli, who has retired from both Tests and T20 internationals, is returning to the Indian jersey after a long hiatus. Having last played in the IPL, this could very well be his final tour Down Under, making moments like these even more special for fans.
