Comedian-actor Vir Das shared a touching message sent to him by a fan two years ago. The post revealed that the fan — who hails from Vadodara, Gujarat – expressed her desire to attend one of the comedian’s shows. However, her father could not afford the tickets at the time and she promised to start earning and attend Das’s show. On Monday, the comedian shared that he finally met the fan during a show in Toronto.
In the Instagram post, Das shared that his team offered her reimbursement for the tickets as well as freebies but she did not accept any of that. His team also organised a backstage meetup for the fan and presented her with a cake. “Cannot show up empty handed… went to bakery and got kid massive piece of cake,” he wrote.
In another picture, Das can be seen meeting the fan. “Finally meet kid after my show and she is studying psychology. Her dad is very proud,” the comedian wrote. The fan also gifted a diary to Das.
“If you are kids parents, would just like to say, well done. You raised a strong character,” Das wrote in the last slide.
