A hernia operation led to an unanticipated discovery at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur. Rajgir Mistri, 46, suffered severe stomach pain for a few days and decided to get an ultrasound, following which he found out he had female reproductive organs inside his body. Mistri, a father of two, discovered that he had developed flesh in his body which was disrupting his internal organs, leading to hernia. According to a report in India Today, Mistri went for a free hernia check-up camp where he consulted Dr Narendra Dev, a professor at BRD Medical College. During the hernia operation, Dr Dev discovered an underdeveloped uterus and an ovary inside Mistri’s body. According to the doctor, Mistri had a birth deformity and showed no female-like features. The report also said Mistri is now healthy and is recovering. In July, a 16-inch bottle gourd was discovered inside a 60-year-old farmer’s rectum in Madhya Pradesh. According to reports, the gourd was located in the back after an X-ray, and the doctors said that the foreign object caused internal injuries. A team of doctors successfully removed the vegetable following a two-hour operation. "The night before last, a patient from the Khajuraho area arrived with abdominal pain. Around 3.30 am, he first went to the Mission Hospital, where the doctor refused to treat him. Subsequently, he came to the district hospital," Dr Jatav told India Today. "Upon examination, it was found that he had inserted a gourd into his rectum. He was admitted and operated on, during which the membrane ruptured. With the assistance of two other doctors, a gourd approximately one and a half feet long was removed," he added.
