TikTok star’s viral Looking for a Man in Finance song lands on matrimonial billboard in Mumbai

Megan Boni’s TikTok song is doubling as a promotional anthem for a matrimonial firm in Mumbai.

TikTokThe viral song has over 2 million views on TikTok.

Just over a week ago Megan Boni, known as Girl On Couch online, was your average 26-year-old, casually creating hilarious content. Then her sarcastic jam Looking For a Man in Finance blew up. Suddenly, it’s being remixed non-stop, going viral worldwide, and Boni can’t believe how her life has taken a wild turn.

According to the TikTok star, the song’s concept sprang from teasing those who lamented about being single while having a lengthy checklist for potential partners, reports People Magazine.

Now, the chorus “I’m looking for a man in finance, trust fund, 6 ’5, blue eyes, Levis,” has become a kind of standard for women on social media. Fan-made videos featuring the song showcase favourites ranging from actors, singers, athletes to even fictional characters.

So, how did it go viral in India? A video surfaced on Instagram featuring a Mumbai street scene with a matrimonial billboard proudly displaying those very lyrics. It seems like a perfect fit, considering extravagant weddings are a quintessential part of Indian culture.

Social media users made the most of the moment. One of them shared the photo on X and said, “I’m 5’6 but have a trust fund am I still good for http://VIPShaadi.com?”

Another user quoted a famous Honey Singh song and said, “Blue eyes hypnotise?” And a third user wrote, “I am a women in finance, no trust fund, 5’2, having brown eyes and tantrums!”
