Before Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding at the Jio World Convention Centre, Nita Ambani, chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, highlighted the preparations for the special day, and how they drew inspiration from Kashi or Varanasi, the “city of light,” in a video shared by the official handle of Reliance Industries Limited on X.

In the video, Nita Ambani is seen wearing a 28 chauk jaal Rangkat saree with delicate floral motifs and hues of zari. The look has been crafted by Manish Malhotra with Swadesh and it pays tribute to India’s master artisans. According to a post on Instagram, it took over six months to create an authentic Rangkat saree, woven by select weavers, showcasing a rare skill passed down generations.
Before the pre-wedding celebrations began, several videos surfaced showing Nita Ambani visiting the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. She conducted a puja there, seeking blessings from Lord Shiva. Afterwards, she indulged in saree shopping at local handloom stores in Varanasi and savoured local chaats. These local businesses have set up stalls at the wedding venue, as shown in the video.
