Soon after Apple’s highly anticipated Apple “Wonderlust” event took place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on Tuesday, social media was rife with memes and hot takes on the company’s products. Amongst the announcement about many system upgrades, Apple also launched four new variations of the iPhone 15 line — iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max Many people light-heartedly lamented that the price range of iPhone 15 is not compatible with their savings, while others joked how Apple launches a whole range of new products every year with only small changes. A handful of memes were dedicated to how Apple finally launched phones with USB-C connectivity after years of criticism about their fragile lightning connectors. Commenting on this tech reporter Mark Gurman wrote, “USB-C is coming to the second-generation AirPods Pro, Apple confirms. It’s also coming to EarPods. Apple is touting USB-C as an upgrade with compatibility with iPad and Mac chargers. Obviously, no mention they were forced to do this". The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are equipped with the much-talked-about Dynamic Island, a pill-shaped area at the top of the screen that offers a new way to interact with widgets. In terms of appearance, the new iPhones have smoother edges and an aluminium enclosure. The tech company also announced that the iPhone 15 will have USB-C connectivity. This will replace its lightning connector, which has been frequently criticised for breaking down too quickly. In the same vein, Apple announced that both the second-generation AirPods Pro and wired EarPods will be updated to USB-C. The cheapest phone in the iPhone 15 line starts at Rs 79,900, followed by the iPhone 15 Plus which is priced at Rs 89,900. Both devices are available for preorder from this Friday, though they won’t ship until September 22. The iPhone 15 Pro will retail at Rs 1,34,900, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max will start at Rs 1,59,900. They are available on preorder from September 15.
