A huge influx of devotees was seen at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, following their Mahakumbh Mela visit. In a video shared by ANI, a dense crowd of men, women, and children can be seen making their way towards the Ram Mandir, raising serious concerns over safety after two major stampedes in the recent past, one at the Mela and one at the New Delhi Railway Station.

The video begins with devotees carrying their belongings on their backs and heads while climbing the stairs to the main temple. Loud chants of “Jai Shree Ram” echo in the background. “Uttar Pradesh | A huge rush of devotees was seen at Ayodhya’s Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple as they continue to arrive to offer prayers after visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela,” ANI posted on X.

As soon as the video gained traction, several social media users called for crowd management to prevent potential stampedes. “Deploy police forces to prevent another stampede,” a user wrote. “Are authorities there waiting for another stampede to happen to take their job seriously?” another user commented.

“Don’t tell me, after Investing so much money by the govt. There are no means to control the crowd,” a third user wrote. “Looks like the crowd management is absent,” another user said.

On January 29, a stampede broke out at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj as lakhs of devotees gathered to take a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam. At least 30 people lost their lives while 60 others were injured.

In another incident, a stampede unfolded at the New Delhi Railway Station, killing 18 people and leaving several injured, amid the Mahakumbh rush. The incident happened after a confusion that followed an announcement of a special train for Prayagraj which prompted passengers to rush to a different platform to board the train.
