A truck transporting a large consignment of mangoes overturned on the Rispana Bridge in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun. The incident unfolded on Wednesday, sparking a chaotic scene as mangoes were scattered on the road.
Although no injuries were reported, the sight of hundreds of mangoes across the bridge quickly attracted a crowd of passersby and locals. The viral video shows that within minutes, people rushed to the scene with bags, baskets, and sacks to collect the fruit. The bridge briefly looked like a bustling street market.
Sharing the video, X user Bhupi Panwar wrote, “A truck loaded with mangoes overturned on Dehradun’s Rispana Bridge. No one was injured in the accident, but the juicy mangoes scattered on the road caught the attention of some people. Turning disaster into opportunity, many rushed with baskets and bags to grab the mangoes, as if a free fair had been set up!”

The video went viral, prompting a wave of reactions. “These ignorant people only see opportunity during disaster. When such people choose leaders, they will inevitably engage in corruption,” a user wrote. “India can never become a developed country because of its people,” another user commented.
“Uncivilised people. They should have helped the truck owner,” a third user said.
According to ABC News, a local news outlet, traffic movement was temporarily disrupted due to the accident, but police arrived at the scene and cleared the wreckage.
Recently, a mango-laden truck overturned in Andhra Pradesh, killing nine labourers and injuring 10 others. The incident unfolded in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district on Sunday night. According to reports, the victims who died were sitting atop the mango load and were crushed when the vehicle overturned.
