Vistara Airlines, which began operations in 2015, operated its last flight on Monday before merging with Tata Group’s flagship carrier Air India on Tuesday. To show respect to the airlines, IndiGo paid a heartfelt tribute.
The viral video posted by IndiGo shows Vistara’s last flight taking off. “As an unforgettable legacy takes its final flight, a new journey on the horizon awaits. Goodbye, @airvistara. Here’s #ToLimitlessPossibilities ahead. #goIndiGo,” IndiGo wrote.

Vistara reacted to the video posted by IndiGo. “Onward and upward! Here’s to the future and all the exciting possibilities it holds!” it wrote.
Vistara also shared a video showing the pilot interacting with passengers on the last flight. “Beginning tomorrow Vistara will merge into Air India to create a world-class global airline. This will open new possibilities for you on a global level,” the captain can be heard saying in the video.
“Thank you for #FlyingTheNewFeeling. Here’s #ToLimitlessPossibilities,” Vistara wrote on X.
From November 12, all Vistara planes will operate under Air India. Vinod Kannan, CEO, Vistara, shared a message on LinkedIn. “Thank you #team Vistara – TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. Past and present. Thank you to our ~75million passengers for your support, patronage and touching testimonials. Humbled and honoured to have been part of this team. Onwards and upwards towards our new chapter. The new feeling has a new home …” wrote Kannan.

Speaking to The Indian Express earlier this year, Kannan said, “The intention and plan is to bring Air India up to the same levels as Vistara. I would say that the expertise at Vistara is crucial for that to happen, because we’ve actually burnt our fingers, we’ve learnt things the hard way, and it’s only fair that we transfer that knowledge since the shareholders are the same.”
