Gujarat saw massive flooding across several districts, which left houses and vehicles submerged. Of the numerous visuals portraying the scale of destruction due to incessant rain, a video of a group of people rescuing a stranded dog has captured hearts online.
Shared by an Instagram handle @weareyuva, the viral clip captures the aged labrador being lifted on a cot by a group of local residents wading through a severely flooded area. The video also shows many houses submerged in the flood.
“An elderly dog was stranded in the Vadodara floods, but the whole community united to rescue it safely. This wholesome act of compassion and love is truly inspiring—a strong reminder to never leave anyone behind in times of need,” the caption read.

As many as 36 people have died in rain-related incidents triggered by flash floods in Gujarat since August 25. According to reports, at least 25 crocodiles were rescued from different locations in Vadodara city. Among them, a man-eater crocodile, which had been kept in Sayajibaug Zoo since 2020 after killing a 54-year-old woman, was recaptured after it escaped.
