Indian Railways have been under scrutiny due to videos of overcrowding and poor management by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Now, a video of a foreigner highlighting the poor condition of a western toilet on the Jaipur Intercity Express has caught the internet’s attention. The viral reel video shows the shabby toilet, rusty taps, and dirty mirror. “Western toilet on train in India, 2nd class. Train # 12991,” she captioned the video. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “In 70 rupees she wants Oberoi's facilities.” Another user commented, “This is a second-class ticket that costs barely 100-120 INR, which is approximately 2 USD, for a journey from Udaipur to Jaipur! You wouldn't even get a pizza topping for that price. Even the Indian middle class avoids traveling in this class.” “Increase your budget, better luck next time,” a third user wrote. “Poor foreigners, please come with budget not hopes,” another user commented. In another post, the woman shared a video of the western toilet on a first-class train in India. “Following on from my previous post. Western toilet on train in India, 1st class. Train #12413. 7h30 ride,” she captioned the video.
