‘We need help’: Foreign tourists plead as kids hound e-rickshaw to beg for money, video goes viral

A video of kids running after an e-rickshaw carrying foreign tourists to beg for money sparked chatter on social media over two sides of India. The video shows a group of tourists pleading for help.

Shared by jist.news on Instagram, the viral video shows several kids hanging on the e-rickshaw, begging for money while the tourists kept saying they don’t have money. “Oh my God! This is too much now. This is not safe. We need money,” one of the tourists filming the incident says in the video.

“This is not safe! This is not safe. Please stop! I can’t believe what’s happening right now,” another tourist can be seen howling.

The said video sparked a discussion as several social media users condemned the incident. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “We come from 2 India’s.. one that is filled with reels of a billionaire wedding…and another that shows poverty & slums.” Another user commented, “It is actually concerning; we need to give this begging system serious thought.”

“It’s been the same for the last 20 years. Why is he shocked? I guess it’s a new experience for him,” a third user said. “The educated people are slowly choosing not to have children. While the below poverty level people are trying to have more income sources at home. There needs to be a stern law about family planning asap,” another user reacted.
