What has bowled over the Internet is Anil Kapoor’s response to the fan’s suggestion.

With BJP and Shiv Sena engaged in a tussle over power sharing in Maharashtra for about a week now, a Bollywood fan suggested a candidate for the Chief Minister’s post — Anil Kapoor. However, what has bowled over the Internet is the evergreen actor’s response to the suggestion.

Taking to Twitter, a user named Vijay Gupta tweeted a photo of the actor from his movie ‘Nayak: The Real Hero‘ along with a caption that read, “Till the time there is no solution in Maharashtra, Let’s see him as the Chief Minister. His one-day tenure on the screen has been seen and appreciated by the entire country.”

For the uninitiated, the 2001 movie was a political-action thriller that circled around TV reporter Shivaji Rao, played by Anil Kapoor, and Chief Minister Balraj Chauhan, played by Amrish Puri. After laying his hands on a controversial voice recording of the CM, Rao invites him for an interview following which Chauhan offers him his seat for a day.

Adapted from a successful Tamil film Mudhalvan, the movie is critically acclaimed and has a quite a fan following. Following Gupta’s suggestion, many agreed to his idea. However, the actor seemed to prefer his onscreen role. “मैं nayak ही टीक हूँ (I am better off as Nayak),” responded Anil Kapoor.
