Ed Sheeran’s India tour has been making headlines. The singer, known for his love of impromptu gigs, was busking in Bengaluru when local police stepped in and put a stop to it. A video of the moment quickly went viral, sparking reactions from fans all over social media.

Now, Amul has joined the conversation with a witty illustration about the incident. The artwork shows a policeman offering a piece of bread to Sheeran, who is depicted in his signature casual outfit, with a guitar in his hand and reaching out for the snack. The brand’s signature wordplay is on full display with the captions: “Ed Sharin’ a snack!” and “Eat on the street!”—a cheeky nod to the incident. What really happened?

Sheeran’s surprise street performance in Bengaluru was unexpectedly cut short by the police around noon on Sunday. The British singer-songwriter, accompanied by his security team, had set up across from the M G Road Metro station on Church Street, where microphones and a guitar were ready for his set.

Just as he began strumming his hit Shape of You, Sheeran told the crowd, “So, we were gonna play more than one song. But, right now let’s play one song, alright.” However, barely a minute into the performance, a police officer stepped in and disconnected the speakers, putting an abrupt end to the show.

Authorities later explained that the performance was halted because no official permission had been granted. But Sheeran later took to Instagram to set the record straight, stating that the event was indeed pre-approved.
