Known for its arid landscape, Dubai transformed into a waterlogged city as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) witnessed unprecedented rain and thunderstorms on April 16. Amid countless videos of Dubai flashfloods floating on social media, a video of Fable & Mane CEO Akash Mehta juggling with his flooded balcony and Zoom meetings is grabbing eyeballs.

In the now-viral video, Mehta can be seen clearing out his flooded balcony by dumping water on the streets. As the video progresses, one can see him bathing himself with the dustpan. He then can be seen attending Zoom meetings on his laptop. Sharing the video on Instagram, Mehta wrote, “Today was fun!”

Akash Mehta’s side-splitting encounter with Dubai flashfloods amassed over 12 million views on the platform, triggered a sea of reactions. “Bro you throw that water on someone head !!! Come on bro,” a user joked. “IM DYINGGG we need the full dance asap,” another user demanded.

“You may have single handedly contributed a new round of viral streams towards Water by Tyla,” the third user commented.

Heavy rain lashed the United Arab Emirates on April 16 with ‘Khatm Al Shakla’ in Al Ain recording 254 mm of rain in a single day – the heaviest since 1949, according to a report by Khaleej Times. According to the country’s National Committee for Emergency Management, rain also hit neighbouring Arab nations including Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. In nearby Oman, at least 18 people were killed in the heavy rain.
