Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to demonetise currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, people have been flooding the banks and ATMs in the country. While many returned disappointed only to go back again to stand in queues next day, there were others who made it and could finally lay their hands of the new Rs 2,000 currency note, and then later the Rs 500 one. If you are one of those who got the new Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 currency notes, then going by certain pictures on the Internet, you should still probably think twice before you heave a sigh of relief. Why? Because there are people who claim that they were given currency notes that weren't even properly printed! They have been taking to the social media, and posting pictures of the new notes that clearly look like a job half done. People started claiming that the government was in a rush to get the notes out in the market and did not even bother to get in printed properly. But what's actually the case? Written in Hindi, his post roughly translates to: "This is a great example of the 'well-planned demonetisation'. This is a new Rs 500 currency note that Manoj has withdrawn from an ATM. Half of the note has not been printed on yet. Where is the 'well-planned demonetisation' here? I say, there is. Had there been no thorough planning, the ATMs would have given notes with nothing printed on them. At least these are half-printed. This is absolute planning — through and through." One of the users even gave a detailed explanation as to why this could be someone's effort to show the demonetisation drive in a bad light. @veejaysai@narendramodi@HDFC_Bank@PMOIndia@madversity@arunjaitley Check with the printer company.
