In today’s digital age, relationships have become increasingly complex, with dating apps reshaping how people connect—and, in many cases, how they are deceived. Cheating has evolved beyond traditional forms, with actions like flirting over DMs, secret online relationships, or rekindling past romances through social media proving just as damaging as conventional infidelity. Tanya Puri, India’s “youngest detective,” recently named three Indian cities that top the list for cheating rates.
Speaking on the Moments of Silence podcast with Sakshi Shivdasani and Naina Bhan, Puri shared insights on how long it takes sleuths to expose cheating and the rise of infidelity in modern relationships. “We have a rigorous process, and it usually takes about 25-30 days,” she said. “We check a person’s social reputation, lifestyle, and habits, and we verify everything carefully.”
Puri added that the accuracy of their investigations is “close to 70-80 per cent,” while also keeping an eye on a subject’s outdoor activities. The 23-year-old detective also highlighted the three professions with the highest cheating tendencies: media, hospitality, and aviation. She went on to reveal the top three cities with the most cheating cases in India. “Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata. Bangalore tops the list for the number of cases that come to us,” Puri stated. “It’s just that Bollywood often comes under the radar. Cheating is something that can happen in anyone’s life.”

Highlighting that the arranged marriage couples are more suspicious, Puri shared that in love marriage, too, couples are highly doubtful about their partners cheating on them.
“But when it’s time to get married they know that they need to address it so they come to us (personal investigators),” she said.
