US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti is on a whirlwind tour of India it seems. From meeting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat, his residence, to meeting with chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani, India women cricketer Mithali Raj and Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra, Garcetti has had a busy schedule in the past few days.

However, even amid his busy schedule, Garcetti tweeted a video of trying various Maharashtrian dishes during a lunch at Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi. In Mumbai, the US ambassador visited the legendary Kyani & Co, an Iranian café, to try their famous bun maska and chai.

“Stopped by the legendary Kyani & Co. to try their delicious bun maska and chai, a specialty of Mumbai’s Irani cafes. I have to say, I’m a fan! #Mumbaikars – what else should I try on my next visit?” Garcetti tweeted Wednesday and also posted a photo of himself and his group.

Garcetti also paid his tribute at the 26/11 Memorial at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. “A poignant visit to the 26/11 Memorial at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, honoring the memory of those who lost their lives in the attacks and Mumbai’s resilience,” he wrote in the tweet.

The US ambassador also rode a Mahindra electric vehicle with the company’s chairman Anand Mahindra.
“The future is electric. I was thrilled to ride across south Mumbai in this innovative @MahindraRise EV, which includes parts manufactured in the United States. Thank you @anandmahindra for sharing your perspective on how #USIndiaBiz cooperation can enable the transition to clean mobility. #USIndiaTogether,” he tweeted.

Mahindra also shared interesting insights about Garcetti after the meeting. The business tycoon shared that he was delighted to learn that Garcetti had studied Hindi and Indian Culture while he was an undergraduate at Columbia. He also had a request for him the next time they met.

“A pleasure to meet you Eric. @USAmbIndia I was delighted to learn that you studied Hindi & Indian Culture while an undergraduate at Columbia. And equally pleased to hear that you’re a Jazz pianist. The next time we meet, I will expect you to belt out some Hindi songs on the piano! (And keep driving our electric cars as well!),” he wrote.
