Watch: Bihar officer thrashes young badminton player, breaks racket during game

According to Kosi Times, a local YouTube news channel, the officer has been identified as Shishir Kumar Mishra, the Additional District Magistrate of Madhepura, who denied the allegations. Kosi Times also said the victim suffered head and face injuries, after which he was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The report also stated that Mishra asked the players to play a match with him. When players refused, saying they were tired from the practice, Mishra forced them after which they agreed to a match. During the match, Mishra got angry when a player hit the wrong shot and started chasing and thrashing him with a racket, according to the report.

The viral video also caught the attention of Madhepura police which promised a necessary probe into the matter.

Meanwhile, several users slammed the officer, demanding authorities to dismiss him. “Immediate and effective action should be taken against officers with such disgusting mentality,” a user wrote. “His ego was hurt,” another user commented.

“All this comes from the thought of considering oneself superior by birth, how can one defeat it,” a third user reacted.
