In a lengthy post on X, Vanshita shared her ordeal and alleged verbal abuse by the auto driver over the fare.
Tagging Namma Yatri on X, Vanshita shared that she even called Save Our Souls (SOS), however, the customer support was of no help and disconnected the call. The woman further alleged that the auto driver began shouting expletives.
“it’s close to 4 am and we were three women (one kid) travelling back home from a friend’s place. The driver demanded extra cash saying we had put wrong location but it’s the same landmark we put each time and are dropped in the correct place. there was no misunderstanding,” she wrote.
“then he started arguing about meter price saying the app fare is too low. we said that doesn’t matter because we booked through @nammayatri app and hence will pay what the app is showing. he started shouting and creating a scene while we kept our points politely,” she added.
Sharing the auto’s number, Vanshita wrote, “this is the auto number-KA02AK0967. requesting everyone to not accept rides if this gets booked on your app and also to be careful of such drivers and men in general @nammayatri @BlrCityPolice. this is clearly not done. we have never felt more unsafe in our entire lives.”
Take a look at the post here:
had the most unsafe & scary auto ride of my life @nammayatri
your driver threatened us, called us ‘chutiya’ and ‘madarchod’ & started coming close to us almost as if he would hit us
SOS is of hardly any use, they listened to our plea & just disconnected the call

Soon after the post went viral, the official handle of Namma Yatri apologised and wrote, “We are really sorry to hear about the experience you have been through. We at Namma Yatri take safety concerns very seriously. Thanks for sharing the details. Please do allow us some time to check this and get back to you.”
Several social media flocked to the comment section and reacted to the incident. “This is so pathetic….bangalore just getting worse day by day. I hope you are alright,” a user wrote. “I hope you are safe now, had a similar experience and i personally can sense, how does it felt, but you are strong and i hope strict action will take against them,” another user commented.
