A viral dashcam video captured a heated altercation between a car driver and a scooter rider, resulting in a temporary traffic jam.
The confrontation began when the scooter rider attempted to squeeze between the car and the road divider, accidentally scratching the car. The video shows the frustrated driver stepping out of his vehicle, yelling at the rider, and even moving forward as if to throw a punch—though he stops himself just short.
An X account named Karnataka Portfolio shared the video saying, “In this case, a scooty rider, clearly at fault with little spatial awareness, triggered the incident. The rider appeared oblivious to the surroundings, navigating through traffic in a careless manner. However, the behavior of the i20 driver raises questions too. If a minor scratch on your car can cause this level of frustration, it might be wiser to stay away from the roads or find alternative ways to handle such situations.”

The viral video went viral, prompting a reaction from the Bengaluru city police. “Please provide the exact location of the incident happened,” the handle wrote.
With over 81,000 views, the video divided social media users. A user wrote, “Why is a minor scratch acceptable? Shall I do it on your car now? Road rage is wrong, but only when unprovoked and there is no fault of the other party. If not, then they are liable to pay up in some way.” Another user commented, “While I can understand the frustration from the car person , he was being too aggressive.”
“The bikers license needs to be suspended, why can he go around scratching cars. The car drivers are expected to be okay with bikes running amok all across India,” a third user said. “My car gets scratched like this 3-4 times on a typical day. If I were to react like this driver, episodes of acute high blood pressure would have killed me by now,” another user wrote.
On Sunday, a motorist was arrested by Bengaluru police after he assaulted a bus driver in a road rage incident. According to the Deccan Herald, the incident happened around 8 PM when the bus was near the Haleguddadahalli signal.
