Netizens admitted that they would be too cautious to eat food offered by a strangerA small but powerful act of kindness in Bengaluru has touched thousands online after a woman from Mumbai shared how her Uber driver came to her rescue on an unexpectedly rough night. What started as a stressful, exhausting evening turned into something she says she will never forget.
Yogitaa Rathore, a Mumbai-based creator, took to Instagram to narrate the moment. She opened her video saying, “Aaj mere sath Bangalore mai itni pyaari cheez hui mai kabhi nahi bhool paungi (Something so sweet happened to me in Bangalore today, I will never forget it).”
She explained that she had just wrapped up a shoot, was overwhelmed, had not eaten, and still had a late-night flight at 2 am. While talking to a friend in the cab, she vented, “I am so hungry, my flight is also at 2 am… Patani ab kab khana khaungi (I don’t know when I’ll get to eat)”.
The driver overheard her, stepped out for a moment, and returned holding two sandwiches.
In the clip, he is heard telling her, “Aap itte baar bolee mujhe acha nahi laga ye sunke. Agar meri behen bhi bhuki hoti to mujhe bura lagta (You said it so many times, I felt bad; if my sister were hungry, I’d feel the same)”. He added, “Aap call pe veg bola isliye mai veg dhoond raha tha (You said you wanted veg on the call, so I was looking for a vegetarian option)”.
Rathore, moved by the gesture, told him, “Mujhe aap humesha yaad rahoge (I will always remember you)”. The video quickly went viral, with viewers applauding the driver’s empathy and presence of mind.

Instagram comments poured in, some calling it “wholesome,” others admitting they would be too cautious to eat food offered by a stranger, but still appreciating the man’s intentions. A user wrote, “We are unfortunately wired in such a way that I would be scared to eat anything from a stranger. Btw this was wholesome.”
Another user added, “Is it just me? Coz if someone does that for me I’ll be crying even more out of gratitude and appreciation for that kind soul. BUT, BUT, BUT, how women’s safety is at stake nowadays I’ll still not be eating that sandwich in the cab. Might eat after reaching home behind locked door and after informing someone to check on me an hour later. But, we need more kind people like him.”
A third person commented, “In an ironic turn of events, Bangalore cabbie turns out nice.” A fourth individual commented, “This side of people and Bangalore no one’s talking about.”
