Air India business class passenger shares his 'horror story' during his flight
Air India business class passenger shares his 'horror story' during his flightVineeth K, a passenger who booked a business class seat for his office trip to Newark, shared his ‘horror story’ with the Tata-owned airlines on X. In his lengthy post, Vineeth shared his ordeal of enduring poor management of the business class of Air India as he was served bad food and assigned worn-out seats with dirty seat covers.
Sharing a few photos, Vineeth claimed that his journey on AI 105 was a “nightmare.” From the flight delay to poor seats, flat beds, uncooked food, stale fruits and broken luggage, Vineeth shared a series of inconveniences he faced during his flight.
“Yesterday’s flight was no less than a nightmare. Booked business class (office trip). The seats were not clean, worn off & of the 35 atleast 5 seats were not functional. 25 mins delayed take off. After settling for 30 mins post take off, I wanted to get to sleep (3.30 AM) and realised that my seat doesn’t go to a FLAT BED, reason it’s not working,” he wrote.
“Woke up after a few hours, the food was served and it was uncooked (never faced this in AI), the fruits were stale (everyone onboard returned back). TV/Screen never worked. Not that I would have watched, just tried and it showed ‘Not Found’ error. After all this, final nail in the coffin is THEY BROKE MY LUGGAGE,” he shared.

After flying with Emirates for a few years, I recently moved to Air India as they offer direct flights to NY, Chicago & London which are my frequent travel destinations

In another X thread, Vineeth shared a screenshot of a now-deleted response he received from Air India. “Dear Sir, we’re sorry for the discomfort and we never want our passengers to face such inconvenience. Please DM us your booking details, seat number and DBR/ filer reference number. We’ll promptly look into it,” the post read.

The post accumulated several reactions. One user said, “I really don’t know the AI strategy. They have brought new planes. They should replace these old ones in service sooner. Not sure on the new A350 (is that long range?).” Another user wrote, “I am really concerned as vistara is merging with them, will need to travel indigo.”
“I’ve made the same mistake flying to India from Heathrow on business class. What a massive disappointment with upholstery ripped on the seats. And massively shocked when I learned there was no WiFi , what a joke,” a third user said.
