Sethi, who was widely recognized for his roles in TV series like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, and Sasural Simar Ka, left the entertainment industry in shock with his sudden death.
The news of his passing led to an overwhelming increase in public interest. Google Trends reports a dramatic 1000% surge in searches about Vikas Sethi, with over 200,000 searches recorded within just 22 hours.

According to his wife, Jhanvi Sethi, the couple was in Nashik for a family function when Vikas began experiencing severe symptoms. “He had vomiting and loose motions after we arrived at my mother’s house in Nashik. He was reluctant to go to the hospital, so we had a doctor come to the house. When I tried to wake him up around 6 am the next day, he had already passed away. The doctor confirmed that he died of a cardiac arrest in his sleep,” she told PTI. Sethi’s body has been sent for a post-mortem at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital.
In addition to his television fame, Vikas Sethi appeared in the 2001 hit film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham as Robbie and was also featured in Dipak Tijori’s film Oops!. His funeral will be held in Mumbai on Monday.
