Neehar Sachdeva, a US-based fashion influencer, is redefining beauty standards. Diagnosed with alopecia areata –– an autoimmune disease that leads to loss of hair –– Sachdeva chose to be her natural self on her wedding day, and walked down the aisle without a wig.

Dressed in a red lehenga and adorned with statemewignt jewellery, even a maang tika, Sachdeva radiated confidence as she made her way to her groom, Arun V Ganapathy. His eyes were filled with love as he watched her approach, leading to a heart-felt moment that ended in a warm embrace just before their varmala ceremony. The video capturing this beautiful scene has since gone viral, amassing over 42 million views.

The video was posted on Instagram by Sachdeva’s make-up artist Marisa Sethi Khanijaon along with a caption, “I’m not crying, you are.”

Neehar’s decision to proudly embrace her bald look on her wedding day won the Internet’s heart. One user wrote, “Love doesn’t need body or looks just need a perfect soul.”

Sachdeva was just six months old when she was diagnosed with it. Instead of hiding it, the content creator embraced her bald look, turning it into a statement of confidence and self-acceptance.
