A user complained of the “most terrifying landing” of her life. “Flew into Gatwick from Larnaca with @British_Airways on Saturday night. The most terrifying landing of my life! We had one go around but made it safely! Strangely enough, it’s made me less scared now as it was reassurance that pilots are trained for this! Ours was a legend!” she wrote.

Responding to it, British Airlines wrote, “Hi, there. The adverse storm weather on Saturday caused a lot of disruption over the weekend, but we’re glad things were handled so well and you all landed safely.”

“We landed on Saturday evening in the dark from Vienna. The last 10 mins were bouncy but the pilot aced the landing. Well done @British_Airways!” another user commented. “Well done the pilot, amazing job,” a third user reacted.

“Further flooding is sadly likely over the next few days as water levels rise in slower flowing rivers such as the Severn and the Ouse,” AP cited Environment Secretary Steve Reed as he informed the House of Commons.
