A newly released video showing the aftermath of the OceanGate Titan submersible disaster has sent shockwaves through the internet. The footage, recovered from the ocean floor, shows the mangled remains of the submarine, reminding the tragic fate of its five occupants.
The video, obtained by the U S Coast Guard, and shared on Instagram by Access Hollywood (@accesshollywood), shows the tail cone of the submersible lying ominously on the ocean floor. This haunting footage offers a chilling glimpse into the aftermath of the devastating implosion on June 18, 2023, which claimed the lives of all five passengers, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.
The video also shows the fragmented remains of the vessel. What was meant to be a brief expedition to the famous Titanic wreck tragically ended in disaster. Among those who lost their lives were British adventurer Hamish Harding, French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and Shahzada Dawood with his teenage son Suleman, both from Pakistan’s well-known Dawood family.

According to the New York Post, Tony Nissen, the lead engineer of the ill-fated Titan submersible, revealed during his testimony at a Coast Guard hearing that he “100 per cent” felt pressured to launch the vessel. Nissen, the first witness at the hearing, recounted frequent disagreements with OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, who he felt was recklessly eager to deploy the submersible.
