There was an uninvited guest at the Met Gala 2023 – a cockroach. The insect was spotted on the carpet and had prompted hilarious reactions from fashion aficionados, who called it ‘best dressed’.

Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss’s pregnancy announcements

Tennis star Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, revealed they were expecting their second child at the Met Gala 2023.

Alia Bhatt’s debut at the Met Gala 2023

Alia Bhatt made a stunning debut at the Met Gala 2023, becoming a muse for designer Prabal Gurung. Paying tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, the actor’s gown was inspired by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look, which Dua Lipa wore to the red carpet.

The 2024 Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 6. This year’s theme will celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. Last year’s theme honoured Karl Lagerfeld, who was a regular attendee at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute.
