India clinched a five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, sealing the win in the final over of a high-voltage match. With this, India lifted their ninth Asia Cup title and extended their remarkable record against Pakistan in the tournament, winning all three encounters.

Following the historic win, jubilant fans hit the streets across the nation. From Uttarakhand to Chhattisgarh, celebrations erupted as cricket lovers lit fireworks and danced with joy to mark India’s victory. In one of the viral videos, fans in Ranchi, Jharkhand, were seen dancing with the tricolour. On the streets of Uttarakhand, fans gathered and danced on the dhol beats.

In Punjab’s Amritsar, fans were seen distributing sweets after India turned victorious against its arch-rival, Pakistan.

The Asia Cup 2025 ended dramatically and unexpectedly when India, despite securing a thrilling victory over Pakistan in the final on Sunday, refused to accept the winner’s trophy or individual medals. The presentation ceremony descended into chaos and delay, lasting over an hour and ultimately concluding without any formal handover of the awards.

According to The Indian Express, the Indian team declined to receive the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan’s Interior Minister. The tension reportedly stemmed from Naqvi’s social media activity during the tournament.

Sources revealed that Indian players were upset over posts and reposts from Naqvi’s official X account. One controversial image, shared after the final, was titled “Final Day” and featured Pakistan stars such as captain Salman Agha and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi dressed in flight suits, standing in front of fighter jets. Another earlier post included a photo of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo alongside a crashing airplane.
