Mumbai is currently vibing to the tunes of Coldplay, the British rock band that returned to India after a nine-year wait. The first leg of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour kicked off at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai over the weekend. On Sunday, lead singer Chris Martin apologised to his Indian fans for “forgiving bad things Britishers did.”

During an electrifying performance, the singer mentioned the pre-independence history between India and Britain. “This is our forth visit to India, and the second time to play. First time we played a long show and we could not have asked for a better audience. Thank you for coming today everybody,” Martin said in the video.

“It is amazing to us that you welcome us even though we are from Great Britain. Thank you for forgiving us for all of the bad things that Great Britain has done,” he added.
