As December 25 marks Christmas 2024, the festival’s magical charm spreads around the world as children wait for Santa Claus to drop their gifts. One question that kids are known to ask is: “How will Santa get to our home?” Thanks to Heathrow Airport, children in the UK now know when and how Santa and his sleigh will reach them.

On Tuesday, Heathrow Airport shared a festive video on Instagram, showcasing the flight information display system (FIDS), informing Santa would be arriving in London at midnight from the North Pole. The names of Santa’s trusty reindeer — Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph — were also featured on the display.

“SANTA1 is scheduled to arrive at #Heathrow. Our Christmas day arrivals board is LIVE across terminals, marking Santa and his reindeer’s magical stop on their global journey,” the caption read. To add to the festive fun, Heathrow also issued a playful advisory for passengers: “Please keep your carrots with you at all times. Unattended carrots may be sniffed and eaten.”

“That’s so sweet. I have always wondered about it,” a third user reacted.

For children, Santa Claus is more than just a jolly old man in a red suit. His arrival means a lot of excitement and tons of gifts. Rooted in the figure of St Nicholas, a 4th-century Greek bishop celebrated for his acts of generosity, Santa Claus is an intrinsic part of literature and popular culture today.
